  • What's wrong with WordPress?

    Some might say WordPress is slow, bloated, and a security nightmare. But it's also the most popular CMS in the world. So, if you're using all its features, then you've probably accepted its tradeoffs or worked around them.

    The reality is most sites don't need WordPress. They're not using many of its features or aren't changing their sites in real-time. If you're not, then you can infinitely speed up your site, improve security, and reduce your hosting costs with WP Static.

  • Does this work on all WordPress sites?

    Not all. WP Static generate a static site. This means if you have any dynamic content then you may not be able to use WP Static immediately. Sites with web forms, user sections, or content which changes in real-time are dynamic.

    This doesn't mean you can't use WP Static at all. You may revisit those parts of your site to determine if they need to by dynamic and remove them.   • How would I manage my site without WordPress?

    WP Static helps you move away from WordPress. Moving forward, you would make changes to your static site directly. If your site doesn't change very often, that's probably no big deal.

    If you make changes frequently or aren't comfortable moving away from WordPress, you may still use WordPress and WP Static. Check out our Continous Deployment service for more details.

  • What's included in the bundle?

    WP Static will attempt to bundle everything from live site. In most cases, it will include all the files you need to republish your site without WordPress.

    In some cases, such as sites with lots of assets (large images, videos, or file downloads), you may need to add those to your bundle. This is likely a matter of copying your wp-content folder. But we'll let you know when we bundle things up.

  • How do I host the static copy of my WordPress site?

    The great thing is you can host your static site anywhere since it's just HTML files and your assets. Even better, there are many services which host static sites with their free tier. For example, the demo site we create for you to review is hosted freely with Cloudflare.

  • Can WP Static help me deploy the static copy of my WordPress site?

    Yes. If you're happy with your static site and don't feel you need WordPress moving forward, we can guide you through the process of migrating your site and even automate some of it for you.
